It’s official: Two years old and a new round of funding
NewTeeVee has the news: We’ve closed a new round of funding and we just turned two!
Our round was led by Ambient Sound Investments, the venture capital vehicle of four of the Skype founders. Lauder Partners also participated along with a great group of individual investors who have already proved incredibly helpful. Those individuals include Andrew Rasiej, the founder of the Personal Democracy Forum; Jonathan Kopp, a partner at SS+K and many other fantastic folks like Ken Sawyer, founder of Saints Capital.
The new money will help us do a lot of things. We’re going to be building out our technical team, our ad sales team and our content development team. We’ll also be moving to some new digs around the corner from our current offices in order to fit all those people. We’re going to be building up lots of new features on blip, expanding our distribution network and working hard on building up both our advertising marketplace and our sponsorship sales. There’s lots to do, and we’re excited to do it!
We’d like to thank everyone: The great show creators on blip, the people who watch those great shows, our advertisers, our investors and everyone who’s joined or will join our team.
The New York Times also picked up the news, noting that Jeff Sehcrest co-chief of media and entertainment at Lazard, participated in the round.
